Many Sonoma County Steelhead Fisherman attended the 3rd annual RRWSS at the Sportsman Club in Duncan Mills, Califrornia ============================================================ The Russian River Wild Steelhead Society will be holding the 3rd Annual Gathering of Great Steelheaders. The Russian River Wild Steelhead Society is a group of devoted steelhead fishers who would like to make an impact on the Russian River. This gathering will be held at the Sportsman's Club in Duncans Mills on April 16. Funds raised from this event and from past events will be used for projects on the Russian River and it's tributaries. Finally, after much discussion, the California Department of Fish and Game has decided to give us some stream rehab projects for our members to work on, these projects will begin this summer. ==================================================================================================================================================================== This organization was started by Frank Bertaina ...this is one of Frank's legacies. Frank had the Idea, Passion, and Energy that kicked off the first event in the Fall of 2009. Frank was able to secure Russ Chatham and Lani Waller as speakers, with many other notable Anglers like Jim Adams and Hal Jansen attending. Fortunately, Frank's contagious energy and excitement was picked up by several local anglers.
